On June 5, 2019, Officer Vasquez was selected as Officer of the Year by the American Legion Post in Glendale, Arizona.[2]

2005 Interaction with Benjamin A. Perez

Mr. Perez filed a lawsuit, alleging that Officer Vasquez violated his Fourth Amendment right by using a Taser against him 4 times.[3]

On October 31, 2005, the United States District Court ruled that Vasquez should respond to the allegations.[3]

On April 17, 2006, the court rules that Perez was not entitled to a court-appointed attorney in his civil case.[4]

On April 3, 2019, Wesbrock filed a lawsuit against Gabriel Vasquez, Michael Fernandez, and Air Force Officers Ledford and Ledesma, citing violations of his First and Fourth Amendment rights, and other allegations.[5]

On June 3, 2020, the United States District Court provided a mixed ruling. Several of the counts in Wesbrock's lawsuit were denied due to a 2-year statute of limitations. Charges of malicious prosecution, supervisor liability, and conspiracy were allowed to continue.[5]
