2016 Assault of Patrick Gehrlein

On October 10, 2016, Griffith responded to a domestic disturbance and took Patrick Gehrlein into custody. Griffith was accused of kicking Gehrlein in the face while he was handcuffed and prone. Three other officers reported the assault.[1][3]

2021 Arrest for Domestic Violence

On February 13, 2021, Griffith's wife called 911 to report that he had repeatedly struck her in the face.[1]

On November 12, 2021, Griffith was convicted of a lesser charge of third-degree misdemeanor simple assault, which carries a maximum sentence of a year in prison.[1]

After the domestic violence conviction, Griffith would not be eligible for police officer certification in Pennsylvania, nor would he be allowed to possess a firearm under federal law.[1]
