2022 Arrest for Cocaine Distribution
In November 2021, the Raleigh Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency received tips from two confidential informants who claimed Rodriquez was selling drugs.
On January 24, 2022, Rodriquez met with an informant while on-duty, driving his police car, and in uniform, and sold the informant $2,600 worth of cocaine.
Rodriquez was placed on administrative duty during the investigation.
Rodriquez was placed on unpaid leave after his arrest.
On February 23, 2022, Rodriquez was arrested on federal charges of distribution of a quantity of cocaine and possession of a firearm in connection with that offense. Rodriquez faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 5 years in prison if convicted, and a maximum of life in prison.
