2021 Shooting of Jenny Li and Death of Jamie Lang

Wu and Jenny Li ended their relationship in September 2021.[4][5]

On October 13, 2021, Wu waited in Li's apartment for hours before shooting Li and killing the woman's new girlfriend, Jamie Lang.[4][5] Part of the incident was captured on a 911 call made from the apartment.[6]

Wu waited for officers to respond, and admitted to the shooting.[6]

Response Timeline

Wu was suspended without pay.[2]

On October 14, 2021, Wu was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder.[7][8]

On November 18, 2021, Wu pleaded not guilty to the charges.[9]

On Spetember 12, 2022, Li's family filed a lawsuit against the department and Wu, claiming the department knew that Wu was unfit and should have been removed from service.[9]
