2018 Failure to Report for Duty
On May 10, 2018, Lucas was suspended for one day for failing to report for duty for an event.
2019 Crash Investigation
In February 2020, officials investigated Lucas "after irregularities were discovered during a crash investigation".
The department's investigation found that "Lucas was untruthful when he indicated in an official police report that he and his partner did not pursue a suspect's vehicle and that he had identified the suspect as having warrants after running the vehicle's license plate," according to a news release.
On November 16, 2021, Lucas was suspended without pay.
On November 16, 2021, Lucas was indicted by a grand jury on one count of tampering with a government record.
On November 18, 2021, Lucas was arrested. If convicted, Lucas faces up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000.
