2018 Failure to Report for Duty

On May 10, 2018, Lucas was suspended for one day for failing to report for duty for an event.[3]

2019 Crash Investigation

On November 22, 2019, Lucas was involved in a vehicle pursuit, during which the driver struck a police car.[4][1]

In February 2020, officials investigated Lucas "after irregularities were discovered during a crash investigation".[1]

The department's investigation found that "Lucas was untruthful when he indicated in an official police report that he and his partner did not pursue a suspect's vehicle and that he had identified the suspect as having warrants after running the vehicle's license plate," according to a news release.[1]

On November 16, 2021, Lucas was suspended without pay.[1]

Legal Action

On November 16, 2021, Lucas was indicted by a grand jury on one count of tampering with a government record.[1]

On November 18, 2021, Lucas was arrested. If convicted, Lucas faces up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000.[1]
