Qualified immunity can protect officers from civil litigation in certain cases.

Qualified immunity does not protect officers from administrative or criminal actions (see Officer Outcomes).

Please see the following pages for incidents where qualified immunity was an issue. Remember that the information is based on what we've been able to find, and is certainly not complete for this reason (e.g. the media may not mention the use of a qualified immunity defense, etc).
