2020-2022 Child Pornography
The FBI was investigating a national group of alleged child predators. Their investigation led to Bartley.[1]
Between August 2020 and February 2022, Bartley expressed his sexual interest in children to a woman on social media. The woman sent Bartley child pornography images.[4]
Response Timeline
On April 5, 2024, Bartley was arrested and charged with Knowingly Receiving Child Pornography and Knowingly Possessing Child Pornography. Bartley faces 5-30 years in prison.[4]
Bartley was placed on administrative leave.[1]
The investigation revealed more details, including that Bartley attempted to take sexually explicit pictures of a 15-year-old girl.[5]
On April 18, 2024, Bartley resigned.[2]
On April 30, 2024, a federal grand jury indicted Bartley for attempted production of child pornography, attempted coercion and enticement of a minor, distributing child pornography, possessing child pornography, and 8 counts of receiving child pornography. Barley faces a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.[5][6]
