Marcum's girlfriend accused him of fondling her young daughter.
Marcum was acquitted on all charges.
2018 Death of Ki'Anthony Tyus
An internal investigation determined that Marcum did not violate the department's policy.
In January 2019, Tyus' family sued the driver of the vehicle, the department, and Marcum.
The County Attorney's Office, which represented Marcum, argued that Marcum was protected by qualified immunity because his actions were not a substantial factor in causing the crash.
On December 8, 2021, the lawsuit was settled for $600,000.
