2017-2023 Embezzlement

From 2017 to 2023, Fahoum embezzled nearly $50,000 from a bank account used for the police explorers.[5]

The agency reported the embezzlement to the District Attorney.[5]

Response Timeline

On September 30, 2024, the District Attorney opened an investigation.[5]

Fahoum was placed on administrative leave.[4]

On April 25, 2025, Fahoum was charged with felony grand theft by embezzlement, four felony counts of grand theft, and one misdemeanor count of petty theft. Fahoum faces up to three years in jail.[5]

On May 6, 2025, the state Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) temporarily suspected Fahoum's certification after the charges were filed.[6]
