2002-2005 Sexual Assault
Hale was accused of assaulting three children ranging in age from 8 to 11 between January 2002 and December 2005 at a house.[3]
The crimes occurred before Hale was employed as a police officer.[1]
Department Response
In November 2020, Hale was placed on administrative leave after the offenses came to light.[1]
On November 3, 2021, the department announced that Hale had been fired.[1]
Legal Action
Hale was originally charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy and one count of sexual misconduct or attempt involving a child less than 15.[4]
On November 2, 2021, Hale pleaded guilty to two second-degree felonies.[4]
