2011 Conviction for Public Intoxication
On March 6, 2011, Innes' truck struck a landscape retaining wall. Innes ran off when security guards approached, and fell into a drainage ditch before attempting to walk away.
Responding officers found Innes, who was highly intoxicated, smelling of alcohol, and slurring his speech.
Innes was suspended for 30 days.
In a statement to investigators, Innes wrote, "I love being a police officer for Dallas and if I am allowed to remain on the department, this will never happen again."
Innes was charged with public intoxication. He was not charged with DWI because he had not been seen driving the vehicle.
Innes was convicted of public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor, which was punishable by a fine.
