In 2021, Coker twice used the Texas Law Enforcement Telecommunications System to look someone up in a police database without a "law enforcement reason to do so".
In April 2022, the department received a complaint about Coker's actions.
Coker was placed on administrative leave.
On September 28, 2022, a grand jury indicted Coker for felony breach of computer security.
Coker was placed on unpaid suspension.
On October 10, 2022, Coker was arrested for breach of computer security.
On December 15, 2022, Coker was fired.
