2021 Arrest of Joshua Tyler
In February 2021, Kentucky State Police officers tried to pull Tyler over for a broken taillight. Tyler drove away, travelling on the wrong side of the road, and attempted to hit a police car. Johnson joined the response. Tyler stopped and exited the vehicle with his hands up. Johnson pulled Tyler to the ground and punched him, as other officers joined in.
The arrest report claimed that Tyler reached for a knife and resisted arrest.
The incident was captured on vehicle dash camera.
The Sheriff's Office determined officers used the "necessary force of arrest".
On November 16, 2022, a local TV station reported on the story and aired the dashcam video.
On November 18, 2022, Johnson was fired from the Louisville Metro Police Department.
