Incident Reports
2021 Arrest of Joshua Tyler
In February 2021, Kentucky State Police officers tried to pull Tyler over for a broken taillight. Tyler drove away, travelling on the wrong side of the road, and attempted to hit a police car. Johnson joined the response. Tyler stopped and exited the vehicle with his hands up. Johnson pulled Tyler to the ground and punched him, as other officers joined in.[1]
The arrest report claimed that Tyler reached for a knife and resisted arrest.[2]
The incident was captured on vehicle dash camera.
Response Timeline

On November 16, 2022, a local TV station reported on the story and aired the in-vehicle video.[2]
On November 18, 2022, Johnson was fired from the Louisville Metro Police Department.[2]
