2019 Procedure Violations

On December 20, 2019, Post was working an off-duty assignment at a grocery store and used a police database to lookup information on a woman. Post engaged the woman in a personal conversation, including the exchange of social media information, and included some information from the database in the conversation.[2]

Response Timeline

On July 10, 2020, the department released the results of their investigation, finding that Post had violated several state laws and department policies.[2]

On July 10, 2020, Post was suspended for one day.[2]

2022 Abuse of Power

On August 7, 2022, Post responded to a call from a woman who was being harassed online. Post and the woman communicated over social media, including the exchange of explicit messages and pictures. The woman did not have a driver's license, and Post told her where to avoid enforcement stops. Post and the woman, both of whom were married, met once to have sex.[1]

2022 Abuse of Power

In September 2022, Post and other officers responded to reports of shots fired. Polk met a woman and her partner, who was arrested. Polk reached out to the woman on social media and asked her for pictures.[1]

On November 12, 2022, the woman's partner reported the incident to the department.[1]

Response Timeline

An internal investigation found a third woman who Post had contacted and befriended on social media. The woman believed that Post was soliciting explicit pictures.[1]

In December 2022, Post resigned, which ended the internal investigation.[1]
