2021 Timesheet Fraud
On October 15, 2021, Hoyt clocked in at approximately 1pm for his shift that started at that time. Hoyt did not begin work until 3:45pm.[1]
Response Timeline
As Hoyt had previously been investigated by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) for prior timesheet fraud, the Commission opened a new investigation. Hoyt did not appear at his scheduled interview time.[1]
The Commission found that Hoyt's act of "making false information" would have been a felony if he had been criminally convicted. The Commission is empowered to revoke the certificate of officers who engage in such conduct.[1]
On February 1, 2023, the Commission revoked Hoyt's certification for engaging in criminal conduct and showing a lack of good moral character.[1]
