2021 Timesheet Fraud
On October 15, 2021, Hoyt clocked in at approximately 1pm for his shift that started at that time. Hoyt did not begin work until 3:45pm.
As Hoyt had previously been investigated by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) for prior timesheet fraud, the Commission opened a new investigation. Hoyt did not appear at his scheduled interview time.
The Commission found that Hoyt's act of "making false information" would have been a felony if he had been criminally convicted. The Commission is empowered to revoke the certificate of officers who engage in such conduct.
On February 1, 2023, the Commission revoked Hoyt's certification for engaging in criminal conduct and showing a lack of good moral character.
