2018 Theft
Before November 2018, Sexton stole two long guns and $938 from the department's evidence room.[1]
Response Timeline
In February 2020, the Indiana State Police opened an investigation.[1]
In September 2021, Sexton was charged with theft and official misconduct, both Level 6 felonies.[1]
On May 24, 2022, it was announced that the charges would be dismissed after a deferred prosecution agreement was filed.[1]
