2023 Arrest of Jesus Cerda
On June 22, 2023, May saw a vehicle run a red light and make "circular" movements in an intersection. May drove his vehicle into the intersection to warn other drivers. Cerda rammed his vehicle into May's vehicle several times, prompting May to shoot Cerda.[2]
The incident was captured on a business's security camera, a witness's cell phone camera, and officers' body-worn cameras.[3]
