2021
On June 28, 2021, the City Council passed a law requiring that videos from deadly force incidents be posted online within seven days.[3]
2022
In July 2022, in the wake of threats against officers and their families following the death of Jayland Walker, the police chief allowed officers to remove name tags from their uniforms.[4]
2023
On February 6, 2023, the City Council approved funding to install in-vehicle cameras in police cars.[5]
2024
On January 25, 2024, the Mayor announced that officers would be required to wear name tags on their uniforms, starting March 1.[4]
In May, 2024, the agency updated their vehicle pursuit policy to ban officers from pursuits for equipment violations.[6]
