Alon Foster (2023)
Overview
On January 8, 2023, Los Angeles County California Sheriff's Department investigators were at the scene of an earlier stabbing death. Foster walked near the scene and refused to speak with the deputies, who noticed that Foster had a knife. During a 20-minute exchange, deputies ordered Foster to drop the knife. Foster refused, and walked toward the deputies. A foam baton was launched at Foster, with no effect. As Foster continued to advance, deputies fired, striking Foster.[1]
Deputies rendered aid until paramedics arrived. Foster was pronounced dead at the scene.[1]
Deputies Adam Carreon, Zachary Corrales, Salvador Diaz Jimenez, Christopher McDonald, Jonathan Soria, and Rigoberto Villa were involved in the incident.[1]
The incident was captured on deputies' body-worn cameras.
