2022 Sexual Misconduct

On February 23, 2022, Stidam responded to a call involving a 16-year-old girl. During the call, Stidam discovered several sexual videos of the girl on her phone, which he forwarded to himself.[4][5]

The girl discovered that the videos had been forwarded and notified the authorities. The investigation led to Stidam.[5]

Response Timeline

In March 2022, Stidam admitted to the FBI that he had done "something stupid".[5]

On March 25, 2022, Stidam was fired as the agency found that his conduct "renders you unsuitable for continued employment".[2][6]

On May 26, 2022, a grand jury indicted Stidam on three counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, and three counts of official misconduct.[4]

On April 22, 2024, Stidam pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and official misuse while making a call.[1] Stidam was sentenced to four years in prison.[7]
