2022 Stealing by Deceit

A local retailer reported that Sherman had not reported to work for scheduled security details between January 20, 2022 and March 7, 2022. Sherman had been paid over $5,000 for the work.[4][1]

Response Timeline

The department investigated and reviewed surveillance video that failed to show Sherman at work.[1]

On March 10, 2022, Sherman was suspended.[1]

Sherman was charged with a felony count of stealing by deceit.[5]

On October 18, 2022, Sherman pleaded guilty to felony stealing. Sherman was sentenced to five years probation and must pay restitution.[4]
