2022 Pursuit
On January 22, 2022, Officer Taylor Sanchez attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The vehicle fled, and led Sanchez and Perez on a chase. Perez notified the police dispatcher over two minutes after the start of the chase. Perez also did not use his emergency lights for much of the chase.[3]
Perez's report stated that the vehicle had not tried to evade or flee.[3]

2024 Domestic Violence
On December 24, 2024, Perez-Ortiz and a family member argued. Perez-Ortiz grabbed the other person by the throat and pushed them, causing injuries.[4]
