2021 Burglary

On October 28, 2021, police responded to a burglary in progress call at the apartment of Harrison Jordan. Surveillance video showed a man take $60 in property. The investigation was closed when Jordan refused to cooperate.[1]

On December 21, 2021, an explosion occurred at Jordan's building. Police re-opened the burglary investigation and Jordan identified Hannon as the burglar. Jordan claimed to be in a relationship with Hannon's wife and that the two men had previously argued.[1]

A review of the surveillance video showed that the burglar was wearing pants issued to Hazelton police officers.[1]

Response Timeline

On December 21, 2021, Hannon was suspended without pay.[2]

On December 21, 2021, Hannon was arrested for felony burglary, felony criminal trespass, and misdemeanor theft.[1]

On February 14, 2022, Hannon was charged with attempted homicide and arson.[3]

On March 4, 2024, the judge declared a mistrial on the charges related to the explosion.[4]

On September 13, 2024, a jury found Hannon guilty of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possessing weapons of mass destruction, possessing weapons of mass destruction and causing an evacuation, arson, causing a catastrophe, three counts of criminal mischief, two counts of stalking, reckless endangerment, and unlawful taking. Hannon was found not guilty of burglary.[5]
