2022 Arrest of Hit and Run Suspect
On March 27, 2022, a unidentified man was involved in a minor traffic accident and left the scene. Wright and Officer Gilbert located the man, who denied being involved in the accident. Wright asked the man to put his hands behind his back, but the man refused. Wright warned the man that he would take him to the ground, and "it's gonna hurt". Wright picked the man up, flipped him upside down, and threw him head-first to the ground.[2]
A portion of the incident was recorded by a witness and also body-worn camera from both officers.[3][4][2]
The man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, and resisting an officer without violence, both misdemeanors.[2]
