2018 False Allegations
In 2018, Khazin wrote false allegations against a supervisor, claiming that they had been in a drunk driving crash. Khazin created fake witness statements about the incident.[1]

On September 1, 2023, the county prosecutor charged Khazin with one count of official misconduct and one count of false informing. Prosecutors claimed that Khazin was attempting to tarnish the reputation of another officer in order to improve his own chances of being promoted.[3]
The county has dismissed 79 less-serious cases on which Khazin was the lead investigator and is reviewing 24 felony cases.[1]
