Incident Reports

2018 Arrest of Jameson O'Connor

On February 4, 2018, Williams and Officer Brian Wonderly were on patrol at a local bar. Wonderly escorted a young woman from the bar, whom he suspected of being underage. O'Connor, the woman's brother, approached Wonderly. Williams' report stated that O'Connor had shoved Wonderly, but an audio recording has Wonderly stating that O'Connor did not push him.[1][5][6]

O'Connor was arrested and charged with interference with law enforcement.[5]

A judge acquitted O'Connor of the charge and took exception to the police officers' conduct.[5][6]

In February 2019, an attorney notified the department that the reports and court testimony given by the officers were contradicted by video and audio recordings, which showed that O'Connor was not close enough to Wonderly to have pushed him.[2][5]

Department Response

On June 8, 2019, an internal affairs investigation cleared Williams of any department policy violations.[6][5]

2019 Arrest of Duc Tran

Legal Action

On July 16, 2021, Tran filed a lawsuit, alleging excessive force, negligence, and battery by Williams, a failure of the department to train and supervise Williams, and malicious prosecution.[7]
