Between May 29, 2020 and April 24, 2021, Stokes obtained money from an apartment complex "by false pretense".[3]

In May 2021, Stokes resigned.[1]
On June 30, 2021, Stokes was decertified for "sustained untruthful documentation during the course of duties".[3]
On June 1, 2023, a grand jury indicted Stokes on two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses. Each charge involved amounts of $1,000 or more.[3]
Stokes remains at large.[1]
