2021 Tampering
On February 2, 2021, a jail inmate told Amaro that other inmates had attacked him, causing injuries. Surveillance video showed that Amaro had witnessed the attack.[1]
Amaro did not report the attack in his paperwork.[1]
The next deputy on duty reported the complaint.[1]

On February 5, 2021, Amaro was placed on administrative leave.[1]
On February 8, 2021, Amaro was fired.[1]
On August 29, 2022, a grand jury indicted Amaro for felony tampering with a governmental record.[1]
