Response Timeline
On December 14, 2021, Cook was indicted on charges of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and misconduct in office.[1] If convicted, the charge of assault carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and the misconduct charge up to 10 years in prison.[2]
On December 21, 2021, Cook pleaded not guilty.[3]
