2014 Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery
On December 12, 2014, Officer Perry and several other officers responded to a home invasion armed robbery. Perry was struck in the leg by one of the suspect’s rounds. Perry and others returned fire, striking the suspect but not stopping him. A second suspect was arrested at the scene, and the first suspect was captured a few hours later.
2021 Death of Matthew Zadok Williams
On June 28, 2022, the District Attorney announced that they would not file charges against Perry, saying that there was "no criminal culpability" and the shooting was "justified".
