2023 Shooting of Eduardo Villasenor

Critical Incident Briefing - East Los Angeles Station, 09/04/23

On September 4, 2023, deputies responded to a call about a man who had stolen several items from a gas station and was armed with a gun. Deputies located Villasenor, who refused commands to stop. Villasenor brandished a handgun, prompting Inzunza to fire, striking Villasenor.[2]

Deputies rendered aid until paramedics arrived and transported Villasenor to the hospital.[2]

The incident was captured on a business's surveillance camera and Inzunza's body-worn camera.[2]
