Response Timeline
Matula was charged with criminal trespass and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.[1]
Matula entered a diversion program, which required Matula to let his state certification lapse and not attempt to have it reinstated.[1]
On July 12, 2023, the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (POST) revoked Matula's law enforcement certification for criminal conduct, failure to cooperate in the commission's investigation, and a lack of good moral character.[1]
