2021 Sexual Battery

On December 10, 2021, a woman and her husband asked to share a booth at a crowded bar with Herrera. Herrera was off-duty and identified himself as an SFPD officer. At the table, Herrera grabbed the woman's inner thigh. The woman left the table and went to the bar to pay. Herrera followed the woman, stroked her hair, and groped her vaginal area. The woman screamed at Herrera and called police.[2]

Response Timeline

On March 20, 2024, a jury convicted Herrera of sexual battery. Herrera faces up to one year in jail.[2]

On September 6, 2024, Herrera surrendered with certification.[1]
