2022 Sexual Misconduct

Starting in January 2022, Humphrey had sex with a 15-year-old whom he had known for years and who worked at Humphrey's side business.[1]
Response Timeline
The Special Investigations Unit opened an investigation.[1]
Humphrey called the Department of Child Services, identified himself as an officer, and asked about the complaint. The DCS worker told Humphrey the name of the complainant and that it was about sex abuse.[1]
Humphrey attempted suicide, but was found alive and treated at a hospital.[1]
On January 26, 2024, Humphrey was charged with four counts of sexual misconduct, three counts of child seduction, attempted obstruction, official misconduct, and voyeurism.[1]
Humphrey was suspended without pay.[1]
In July 2025, Humphrey pleaded guilty to six felony charges. Humphrey faces up to 24 years in prison.[3]
On August 8, 2025, Humphrey was sentenced to 20 years in prison.[3]
