In 2016, Nimau received an Outstanding Duty Award for his actions during the arrest of an armed robbery suspect.[5]

2020 Child Pornography
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police alerted Homeland Security Investigations that Nimau was using a Canadian social media platform to send child pornography. Nimau was in possession of hundreds of images of child pornography.[6]

Nimau was placed on paid administrative leave.[5]
In March 2020, Nimau was arrested and charged with possession of child porn.[7] Nimau faces up to 20 years in prison.[5]
Nimau pleaded guilty.[7]
On June 21, 2022, Nimau was sentenced to two years in prison.[6][7]
On February 14, 2023, the state Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) showed Nimau as ineligible to hold a certification.[8]
On June 15, 2023, the POST Commission revoked Nimau's certification following his felony conviction.[8]
