2019 Shooting of Myles Regenold
Response Timeline
Higgins was placed on paid administrative leave.[1]
On March 2, 2021, Myles Regenold filed civil rights lawsuit against Higgins. Attorneys said video camera footage showed Regenold was unarmed and complying with the officers when he was shot.[2][3]
On September 23, 2021, the city of Ankeny agreed to a $500,000 settlement with Regenold.[3]
