2022 Death of Keith Murriel
Response Timeline
In January 2023, Land was placed on administrative leave with pay.[2]
In April 2023, Murriel's family filed a lawsuit against officers Land, McCarty, Cazinova Reed, and Willis for using excessive force and failing to render aid.[3]
In April 2023, Land was fired for a policy violation.[1]
On May 24, 2023, a grand jury indicted Land for manslaughter.[4]
