Response Timeline
The District Attorney reviewed the incident and has not filed charges against the officers.[1]
An Internal Affairs investigation determined that the shooting was within department policies.[1]
2023 Death of Sanrico McGill
Response Timeline
On July 30, 2024, the Mecklenburg District Attorney ruled that the officers were "entirely reasonable" in believing McGill posed an "imminent threat of great bodily harm or death to his brother" and no criminal charges would be filed.[2]
